How It Started
The origin story begins with the very first 3D model. This model was designed from a stack of hand drawings, each part meticulously being recreated on Tinkercad.
Once recreated, the 3D model was born. This is when the magic happened. After months of cutting , bending, and lots of silicone, TheStrawWasher was born in a 5 square foot corner of a garage.
TheStrawWasher was no longer an idea. This prototype proved that the solution to wash reusable straws is achievable and within reach. Exactly what was needed to continue chasing the dream of a cleaner Earth.
How It's Going
Sometimes you have to start from scratch. so that’s exactly what happened. TheStrawWasher was redesigned to perform efficiently, stand more compact, and be easy to access.
The 3D parts were then printed and delivered. It was assembled and underwent testing for what little changes needed to be made before final production.
TheStrawWasher’s design is getting finalized and then will be ready to make its worldwide impact- reducing tons of single-use waste by simply washing reusable drinking straws.

A Brief History
Imagine a world where there is no such thing as a “straw”. This is the world Ancient Sumerians were in 5,000+ years ago. They had a problem. A drinking problem. Not the kind of drinking problem everyone’s uncle has either 
. They couldn’t drink their communal beers without sucking in the solids that floated at the top of the vases 
. Now, even though Sumerians didn’t have access to electricity, that didn’t stop them from having a lightbulb moment 
. This is the exact time in history that the idea of the 
straw was born. Crafted from wood and precious metals, these drinking tubes gave Sumerians the upper hand over their counterparts 
. They no longer had to fight off those floating herbs when they drank their homemade nectar and were finally able to enjoy their drinks in peace 
.
Let us fast forward 5000 years 
. We’re in the present time 2020’s. As we time traveled, the invention of paper straws and plastic straws arose, providing your average person the convenience of a single-use straw 
. Cheap to make, cheap to buy, and easy to throw away. Convenient… Or so we thought. Over the last 60 years our attention has been slowly pulled towards the impact that plastic is having on our environment 
. We’ve discovered plastic is in everything– Our foods, our environment, and even our blood, with the most recent study citing that 3/4 of collected blood samples contained a quantifiable mass of plastic particles 
. The clock is ticking and our time to turn around is less than 30 years
